Introduction

After working on a Christian based advice site for almost five years, then a Christian based prayer site for seven, I decided that every believer out there had a specific reason they connected with Christ. I decided to create a list of seven questions that would elicit their motivations for studying the faith and believing in it. The answers turned out to be a broad spectrum of information, so interesting that five years later I ran the project again. Take a look at the book, read what looks interesting to you, and I hope you gain from the experience. This information can really have a powerful impact on your spiritual perspective.

That I'm actually doing it.

What convinced you of the truth in Jesus?

For me, it just makes sense.

When, why, and how do you pray?

I pray many times day and night. So much is presented that can't be ignored. I express my feelings, acknowledge the Lord's presence, and ask that His will be done in all that concerns any plight or situation. I have absolute trust in Him and am so thankful that I know to turn to Him.

What denomination, if any, do you belong to, and why that one?

I don't belong to any one denomination but am drawn to a few because of the truth that comes through them and their sincerity: Baptist, Episcopal, Latter Day Saints, Catholic, Jehova Witness, and Mennonite.

What do you think it will be like to exist in heaven, and who are you looking forward to seeing?

We'll all be so full of thanksgiving and joy that we'll have a perpetual grin on our faces. And we're all so creative that we'll never run out of things to do. Hope we're permitted to see Jesus and all the good folks we've read about. And I want to see each person who was instrumental in getting me there.

What is your favorite biblical verse, and why?

The Lord's prayer, because Jesus said to pray this way. It covers everything and pulls me away to where I should be. It gives me an amazing sense of peace and assurance. Psalm 23 is very important to me also. It gives me the same feelings.

I'd like them to smile and say they miss me and will be happy when they see me again.

Faith.

I was raised a catholic Christian and was lucky to be blessed with knowing the Lord Jesus. I have always believed but have not remained faithful in God's word. I am working at letting go and letting God. I hope to serve the Lord. I want to do his will.

When, why, and how do you pray?

I pray most everyday, usually in the morning, sometimes throughout the day. I try to speak from my heart. I try to read a passage from the bible on line. I also recite some traditional prayers like the Our Father and Hail Mary.

What denomination, if any, do you belong to, and why that one?

Catholic Church. I believe in the Catholic Church teachings from the bible and Gods Word.

What do you think it will be like to exist in heaven, and who are you looking forward to seeing?

I think heaven will be beautiful- total joy and peace. I look forward to meeting Jesus. I long to see my brother James whom just passed away 12/9/09 as well as other my grandmothers grandfathers, aunts, and uncles.

What is your favorite biblical verse, and why?

Ask and you shall receive. Knock and the door will be open to you. There is such comfort in these words. God wants us to be happy and depend on him. The pressure is removed, and I can reach out to God. He loves us and will always provide our needs if we let him.

She loved life and gave of herself to make this world a better place for the Lord.

I think it will be beyond words, and I look forward to seeing Jesus, and all the bible saints, family, and friends.

New hope in Him - I see things differently now, and most importantly, want to do things differently to please my Lord!

I was miserably lost before I realized the gift of Christ. I always knew about Him, but , I'll get to it 'one day,' but I was totally miserable. I heard his voice, "Come to me, I will give you rest." One day I answered the call, and I love my life now. I love Jesus and want to please Him in all I do.

When, why, and how do you pray?

All the time - immediately as needs arise. I give thanks constantly!

What do you think it will be like to exist in heaven, and who are you looking forward to seeing?

My Lord gives me visions, and I have seen heaven. I can't wait to give Jesus back all he has given me. Let your life be a testimony for Him, and he will show you many wonders you can never imagine!!!!

Ephesians 3:14-21, This is my prayer for everyone to know the truth. To Live the truth and experience it first hand all the beauty God provides us every day that many take for granted. Seek and you will find - you just need to accept the gift of eternal life.

I would want them to say I showed them God's Love. When I say I love you it means that I would never want to imagine life with out you, that you are special to me and if I were to die I would want you to know that before I go. That's it. Period. No hidden agendas, no strings attached. I will take time to show you in any way I can or when God tells me to do something, I do it out of obedience to him because I want to be his servant. So, when I make you special things, go out of my way,- I want to because I love you!

I've seen Him act and prayers were answered.

I don't pray enough at all. Pray as God requires it at all times. Usually use direct talking dialog, letting God know what is on my heart and how much I love Him.

I believe I'm Christian being that a follower of Christ.

I need to delve into God's Word to learn more on this topic as He wishes to reveal to me in study.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. This verse speaks to me as being what it’s all about.

He left the 99 just to come get me.

I pray in many different ways, the first thing in the morning, after coffee and being able to see, I pray and read the word, but throughout the day as I meet challenges and people, I just talk to Him like he’s standing next to me, like an old friend who knows me even more intimately than I know Him.

I’m non-denominational, as I view denominations as barriers to be placed in between God’s people. The enemy wants to divide and conquer, I’m for some unity. We can’t win without unity, the body must be one.

What do you think it will be like to exist in heaven, and who are you looking forward to seeing?

I want to see my grandmother, and be surrounded by all my dogs I’ve lost over the years. I also believe drag racing is gonna be there waiting on me, as something that good has to be in heaven.

That we are one and that He loves me unconditionally and I love Him too!!!

The Word of God and the Holy Spirit's convicting my heart!!!

I pray always as the Word says to because I can't get through a day without talking with the Lord...I mostly talk with Him in the shower, but pray throughout the day, standing, sitting, riding in a car..He is my everything!!!

Assembly of God, that’s where we were led to go!!!

It will be wonderful in heaven beyond anything that we can even think right now !!! I am first looking forward to seeing Jesus and then all of my family that are there!!!

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding; in all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths...Proverbs 3:5-6...Because we need to trust Him completely as we walk with Him!!!

It is I am blessed since I join Jesus, am protected by the blood of Jesus.

The love He showed me by paying my debt, by dying for my sins

I pray every day because only God can answer my prayers through His son Jesus.

It’s born again faith, because is the only faith where I see God can answer my prayers.

Knowing that if/when I fail, Christ is there for me. It is also the awesome feeling of joy and peace I have no matter what.

What convinced you of the truth in Jesus?

Jesus himself!!! I grew up in church and praying to God. It is through this that Jesus opened my heart and I let Him in. I have seen/felt all of His promises. My Jesus is always with me.

When, why, and how do you pray?

Anytime anywhere. I pray for others, myself, family and thanking God for the many blessings He has bestowed on me. Most of the time my prayers are short and quick. When I get alone to pray in a quiet room, I can talk to God forever. I feel so close to him

Baptist, it is truly bible based.

What do you think it will be like to exist in heaven, and who are you looking forward to seeing?

I think to exist in heaven will be to have an overwhelming feeling of joy, peace, and love. I am looking forward to seeing meeting God and anyone else will be icing on the cake.

Philippians 4:13. Because it is true. I can do nothing without Christ.

I want people to know I loved Jesus and that I lived my life for Him.

That I may Know Him deeply and the Power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His suffering. Not to be cast away after preaching the gospel of Christ. This is hunger for Righteousness.

His deliverance upon my life from sin and its quilt and condemnation.

When, why, and how do you pray?

As a full time Minister, I pray always. Prayer is the secret to my success. I pray to God through Jesus Christ, my Saviour.

Heaven is the home of believers. Being in Heaven is an actualizing of my dream in Christ. He has gone to prepare a place for me in Heaven that where He is there I may be also. I’m looking forward to seeing God and all the true believers.

That no matter what I do, He is still there for me and loves me and it has nothing to do with what I do or don't do! I get sick of all this hell and damnation and scaring people into the gospel, it is all crap. He loves us and only love will draw people to him. What would Jesus do? He would not say if you don't give the church money, I will not heal you! He would not scare people into the kingdom. It is free will, and he wants us to make the choice! Lead by example; people don't like words they want actions!

The miracles and different things that he has done in my life even when I did not deserve it!

There is no formula to anything. Jesus is not religious, and neither am I. This is between him and me!

His love for me and my love for Him.

The overwhelming evidence and the absolute truth of His Word.

When: Every day, many times all throughout the day.

Why: Because He's my best friend and because I need to be as close to Jesus as humanly possible.- Without Him, I am lost, lonely, empty, and have no purpose in life.

How: I talk to Him as I do with anyone else and He speaks back to me in many different ways.- I hear His voice audibly in my head, and I hear Him guide and answer me through His Word, even through everything and everyone around me in my life.

No denomination because I don't believe in denominations. All "Christian" denominations/churches have their own strengths and weaknesses, - "none" have it ALL right, so I learn from the different teachers God brings into my life regardless of denomination because I trust that the Holy Spirit guides me and teaches me all truth.

What do you think it will be like to exist in heaven, and who are you looking forward to seeing?

I think it will be AWESOME to exist in Heaven, that it will be much like we live here on earth, only with NO sin, sadness, evil, discontent, etc. EVERYTHING will be so amazingly "GOOD & GREAT" that. As the Bible teaches us, "No mind can even conceive" of how wonderful it will be! I look forward to seeing Jesus first and foremost, and I look forward to seeing my family and friends again that have passed on, and I look forward to meeting the Apostles of Christ and Joseph from the Old Testament as his life has been a major inspiration to me throughout my own.

Being able to take my troubles and cares to Him anywhere at any time.

Hearing that He died to take away my sin, as if I was the only one who had sinned.

In Church, driving, before going to sleep, during the day. I thank the Lord for what He has done for me and ask for His help for others and for me.

What denomination, if any, do you belong to, and why that one?

Church of England. I have found a welcome and a spiritual home in a Bible believing evangelical Church which is fairly local.one.

What do you think it will be like to exist in heaven, and who are you looking forward to seeing?

We will be conformed to the image of Christ and have real bodies, but ones which will not corrupt or get ill and will live forever. I am looking forward to seeing Jesus, my Father, my aunt, and grandmother who died before I was born.

What is your favorite biblical verse, and why?

Romans 8:38-39. It is comforting that in life's trials nothing can separate us from the love of God which He showed to us in giving His son.
